What I liked about the films was the way they make people think. One minute you could be perfectly content with the world, the next, you’re questioning everything. Now, of course, turning into a paranoid conspiracy theorist isn’t going to do anyone any favours. But refusing to take everything that is spoon fed to you as truth is the first step to reclaiming your power. As I said in my review, you can’t take everything the film says as truth, but that doesn’t stop it from making you look around more critically, making you realise that the solutions to problems are not as difficult as you were made to believe, and simply opening your eyes to a bigger world.
As far as I’m concerned, anything that makes people sit up and start questioning religion or politics is a good thing. It’s a shame that the film makers tarnish its credibility with questionable evidence. But it’s up to the individual to make their own mind up about the facts presented.
Of course people are amazed that I “don’t care” if some of the film’s statements lack evidence. The reason I don’t care so much, is because personally I have little interest if 911 was an inside job, if religion really was derived from astrology, or if money is printed at will. People can debate these issues on their own websites if they wish, I’m not going to defend or attack either side.
My point, however, is that the points the films make are valid – even if the explanations why aren’t. The world is not perfect. Whether 911 was perpetrated by the government or not, politics is still an outdated and parasitical form of control. Whether religion was created from Egyptian stories or not, it is still an evil and irrational power that continues to poison our minds and damage our society. We do live in a world of scarcity, greed, corruption, lies, and waste. We really have created such inefficient, primitive technology and societies that don’t work, and in the future, the world really is set to be freed by technology. I praise the films for bringing this to people’s attention.
So the action steps detailed in the film are still valid and urgent, no matter how lacking the other elements were. That is why I don’t wish to debate the film’s integrity too much – I feel that our efforts should instead be put to acknowledging these failures in our society, and addressing them.
Step 1 Expose the banking fraud, boycott the main financial institutions
Whether the current way of life suits you or not, we are all too dependent on money. It creates greed, and we can’t exist without it. Most of us focus our efforts into making money rather than into making things of value and being happy. When there is abundance for ALL, money will no longer have any use, and then we’ll have no choice but to focus on what we’re really all competing over.
Step 2 Boycott the mainstream media, protect and support the internet
The dangers of media monopolies are ridiculously obvious. When it comes to us knowing the truth, no one entity should hold the keys to information.
Step 3 Boycott the military
Goes without saying really. Mind manipulation, reliance on authority, endangering your life, feeding the killing machine, pawns, puppets, doing someone else’s dirty work, hurting innocents. I can’t even be bothered to put those phrases into sentences, such is the obviousness of this step.
Step 4 Boycott the energy industry, become energy independent
The second most important step. Getting off the grid when it comes to power not only takes away some of your reliance on money and therefore the system, but it also weakens the authorities’ stranglehold on you. Oh, and it helps save the planet.
Step 5 Reject the political system and support technological redesign
The big one. Step 4 is one aspect of this, but becoming independent in any area is very important. Food, shelter, health, and education should be the priorities, and technological advancements should begin to make these steps possible. But the technology alone is not going to be enough. It needs your ideas, your solutions. We all have a part to play in this redesigning of the future. For the short term, these solutions will provide awesome business opportunities. It’s crazy to ignore them.
Step 6 Achieve Critical Mass – spread the word and join the movement
Of course, what’s the best thing for spreading the word? Results. When people see solutions appear to the problems of step 5, they’ll speak with their feet. The internet is one (albeit very large) example but it doesn’t have to be that significant. There are so many opportunities for bringing about these amazing changes, for freeing us of politics and slavery to the dollar, I’m excited to be alive at this time.
The world is changing, and every one of us can make it happen.
