I have said on numerous occasions that I believe the semiconductor industry offers great hope in addressing the issue of cancer. To this end, I’d encourage you to read this article which discusses how researchers have now developed a new silicon computer chip that can filter out cancer cells according to their unique size.
Now, I don’t expect to such chips will be floating in your body anytime soon, but if you adhere to the “law of accelerating returns” it seems reasonable that by 2020 the technology (or a similarly related technology) will be making great strides in the battle against cancer.
