Spanish telecoms giant Telefónica (NYSE: TEF) expects mobile penetration to reach 80% in Brazil by 2010 compared to 55% at the end of 2006, TEF said in a report.
This is very exciting. I’m looking forward to when Web-enabled phones become super cheap, mobile penetration reaches rural areas of South America (and all over the world) and people can interact, learn, and benefit from the Internet regardless of socio-economic status.
