A Safer Test for Down Syndrome

Steven Quake and his fellow researchers at Stanford University have been trying to develop a new non-invasive test to identify genetic abnormalities in the blood stream. With Down Syndrome, the only way to test for this disease is through amniocentesis. If they are successful with their research, then the risks involved with amniocentesis will not be the only way to test.
