It has been reported in the Sydney Morning Hearld and confirmed by Businessweek.com that those annoying, common cyberscams have made their way onto social networks such as Facebook. Karina Wells was contacted by a "friend" and was told that he was stranded on an island and he need money to be wired to him. Wells wasn't convinced and contacted the authorities. She was correct with her hesitation. It turns out that her friend's log in information was stolen. Due to the popularity of social networking sites, these cyberscams have moved on from the typical email format.
